Music

Traditional music for harmony with the creator

The Nisenan nation of the Mother Lode region were once a prosperous and influential culture in the region.  Beginning in the 19th century and interactions with anglo settlers, explorers, and traders faced disease, murder, land theft, and forced indoctrination -- fundamental aspects of physical and cultural genocide.  This exhibit traces the past of the Nisenan with an eye on the future.
